Sometimes you just stumble onto a piece

of furniture and you know

it would be fabulous if only.....

You paint it grey with a smokey glaze...
stain the top dark....

keep the original hardware....

and then......

You just stand back and smile.

because you were right.

1996 called and wants it's wallpaper back....

This is the paper that has been in

my Hair Salon since 1996,

my kids told me it had to go.

I still like it.

Or that's what I kept telling myself,

I now believe I just didn't want

to go to the hassle of

stripping all of it off to redo.

Well, I agree that the time has come...

and guess what....

we are painting right

over the wallpaper.

I was nervous at first but it is

actually going to be beautiful!
I even have Bekah, Emma and

her BFF helping out.

and hubby is helping with

B &B.

I don't see any seams now,

do you?

Anyway, We have a little less

than a week to get this finished.

My other 2 stylist are on
vacation. Almost finished with the

walls and will turn my attention

to the flooring

and painting all the furniture,

even the salon and shampoo chairs.

I'll be back with the big reveal...

Board and Batten Beauty....

I've been in NC the last week at

my oldest Son's home.

My 2nd oldest is staying with

them as he makes a move

south and starts his new job today.

Seth and his wife Melanie have an

adorable home and wanted to add a

bit of charm and character to this wall.

We decided to try Board and Batten

that I have seen on some amazing blogs.

Seth is an engineer and a really handy

guy to have around when doing a project.
:)

It is up, now time to caulk any gaps and

then a final coat of paint!

I actually painted the wall and

the strips before Seth nailed

them up with his air nailer gun.

We bought a sheet of MDF 4 x 8 x 1/2"

and had the guy at Lowe's cut the 1 1/2"

slats for us. They charged us 25 cents a slat.

Which was reasonable and saved us a ton of work!

Melanie wanted a shelf with baskets for extra storage, so that is exactly what she got! :)

We found the baskets at Michael's at 40% off.

They already had the mini chalk boards attached.
We were all happy with how the

project turned out. I think I maybe

will have to do this in my kitchen

this fall when I paint my cupboards.

I just finished these tables for my son Bret....I loved the lines and knew

I could make them fabulous,

like PB style fabulous!

On a shoestring budget....


I tried them out in my house,


I like the dark wood with the light
fabric of my couch.

This little table may trigger a big room redo!

Well, my son loves them.




So they are moving...
to NC with my him.
