I had to chuckle knowing it was my birthday in 3 days and

my cake would also have alot of candles.

Little did I know that on my Birthday(today) we would really..........

CALL THE FIRE DEPARTMENT!!!

my lovely daughter's were trying to surprise me by tidying up the house and burning the garbage. It was windy....need I say more?! ;)


It was a wonderful birthday in all! Emma made me this beautiful sign, card and a
woven art project. Pizza and brownies for dinner. Friends and family have stopped by,
called, emailed, sent cards, wrote on my wall all to make me feel loved
on my special day. And I do, I'm very blessed!

Call me CLUMSY!

Yep, leave it to me! I'm having a big event coming up at my house so what do I do? Yep.... hurt myself! LOL! I have a wonderful friend named Pat who cleans for me every other week. She was at my home this past Friday and I happened to be there while she was cleaning. I was running down from my upstairs when my feet, shod with rubber crocks hit the freshly mopped floor!!!!

Needless to say I landed on my rear, then my back and then my head! Told my kids if only we had a video. Poor Pat, she rushed over to see if I was ok and apologized profusely. It was not her fault at all, I know her routine and that she mops the breezeway first. Silly me. Needless to say I have a very sore tailbone and back. I don't think it's broke, but it feels bruised. At least it's not the week of graduation like usual. For Seth's graduation I was working in the garden with a tomatoe cage and it attacked me somehow....LOL! I ended up with 10 stiches in my eyeball! Not my favorite injury... I kept telling the Dr. I would rather have another c-section than have my eyeball stiched up. LOL! The following summer I was having a wedding Shower for my niece and the day before I fell off the ladder while washing windows and broke my ankle. Anyway I will be fine, I just think it will take sometime. :)

Answered prayers......

Thanks for your prayers. We have been busy online looking for schools that

1. Are accredited in Bekah's field

2. That we could afford since she will be out of state

3. That were semi close to home (that didn't require a plane to get to)

Let me say the Lord is so good. Doors have been opening and it looks like she will be attending

Grand Valley State University in Michigan. We have a visit scheduled for May 11th. Application

is due May 1st. The one thing you could really pray specifically about is that she would be able to

recieve an academic scholarship. Unfortunately we have missed that deadline. She was awarded one at UT.

I'll post more later... just wanted to thank you for your prayers.

Broken Hearted....

I received the following info in an email from my Daughter-in-law who is a graduate from this program at University of Toledo. My daughter was planning on attending and going into the same Field only specializing in Pediatrics. My Daughter has a heart defect and has had open heart surgery when she was 3 and will need the same surgery again in the future. She has always had a special bound with her cardio sonographer, Debbie and wanted to do the same job someday.

She is enrolled at UT, has obtained a scholarship from UT, graduates from high school in 4 weeks. So I was so heart broken to have to call her and share this info from Mel's email.

"The Cardiovascular Program Options are being phased out. UT will no longer admit students into the Associate of Applied Science in Cardiovascular-Echocardiography Concentration; Associate of Applied Science in Cardiovascular-Peripheral Vascular Concentration; or the Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science-Applied and Clinical Physiology-Cardiovascular Option."

My sweet DIL reminded me that God has a plan. I do believe he does, so we will have to trust in this situation. Even though I must say...I'm really bummed. Things were set, she would be 45 miles from home, as close or as far as she (or we) needed it to be, 3 of her very close friends are attending UT, she has scholarship $ awarded from UT. OK.......ok. Thanks for letting me have a little pity party. She will be fine........wherever she ends up, Jesus will be with her. I will be fine too, cause He will be with me too.

I just bought tarts at Swan Creek and am so excited to try them.

I have always bought votives and am happy to be trying the tarts.

They come out with new scents every season. I am trying several new ones this time.

The one I'm burning today is Honeysuckle blossom and I love it.

This a peek at my what's on my hutch for spring....

Found this little birdie awhile back at Anthropologie! Dishes are my wedding china. Found the little blue plate at one of my favorite Antique stores in Pelston, Michigan while at my parent's home on Lake Michigan last summer.

My hubby is flying to NC this morning to spend a few days with Seth and Melanie. They bought their first home so they will be moving. I would love to go to but it's hard to fly standby on Easter weekend and the flights to get me back for work Tuesday are already looking full. :(

So this morning I am working in the Salon doing Bret's girlfriend Brooke. So it's not really work when it's practically family. Afterwards my DD's and I are going to decorate our Easter eggs. FUN! Bret is leaving to go to Columbus for a day of Golf with buddies for a bachelor party. Seth was to fly to Columbus but couldn't get a flight either. Seth is an engineer for US air and can fly for free, and his Momma and Poppa can fly for a very small amount of $. It has been such a blessing for us since they are 10 hrs. away.

It will be the first Easter Sunday that we have not all been together. Different. I am glad Tom will be with Seth and Melanie and I will be with the other 3. I am so thankful that all my children know the Lord and that we will all have an eternity of Easters together. I pray for my blog friends to embrace God's love and mercy this Easter weekend.

Thank you Father for giving your Son, thank you Lord for being obedient to your Father's will and taking on my sin and dying for me.

...wanting to do this for Bekah's party. We did one for Seth and Melanie's Wedding last summer and it was a hit. I am hoping to score some after Easter candy sales!

Remi's passing....

Little Remi passed away late afternoon yesterday, so I'm feeling a little down, so sad for the whole family. It was a very similar situation to our son's passing and I just know how devastated they all are. I am thankful for our loving heavenly Father and know he alone can comfort them just as he has us, but it is a process and one that is hard to watch others have to go through. Thank you all for your continued prayers.

Please pray for little Remi...

Remi is a beautiful little girl who is in the fight of her life. You may find her story here http://remingtonremer.blogspot.com/.

We know all to well the roller coaster ride her Mom and Dad and extended family are on.

Remi has many of the complications our son Jess had with DIC and renal failure after a simple procedure the day after his birth 11 years ago. Our hearts go out to them and we are in a constant state of prayer for Remi and her family.

Many decisions have to be made on an hourly basis for her care. Please pray for wisdom

for her parents and for her many Doctors and Nurses.

Also for God's loving grace and peace to surround them all during these difficult days.

UPDATE~Was able to get my camera working for a brief moment so I am able to prove I have my window open to let in the fresh air. I love this view, soon the trilliums will be blooming!
