Santa Claus is coming to town...

I have been collecting Santa's for awhile now, some were gifts, some were handmade, some I bought. I love the Whimsy of Santa, although I never want that to overshawdow the true meaning of Christmas, to celebrate the birth of my Savior Jesus Christ. Blessings

Silver & Gold = Progress

This is my bay window in what we call the front room. This is the room you enter from the main front porch. Last year I did this window in a snowman theme and I loved it. My favorite is in the

evening after dark, with no other lights, like the first picture, very peaceful. This will stay up most of the winter. While the window looks great the rest of the house is now a wreck! 'Tis the season! ;)

My Christmas Inspiration....

I totally love the whimsy of this decor. I had already purchased polka dot paper back in Sept. (yea for school fundraisers) and have added a fun red and white damask paper from Target. I wanted to add a touch of black this year and was still in search of that paper and I also purchased ribbons of black, green , red and white. I had told my daughter we could do some paper crafting and make paper globes like we had made for my son and my new daughter in laws wedding this past summer. I also have fabric purchased to make christmas buntings. Imagine my surprise when I pulled this issue out of the mailbox and there it was! The design in my head was on the cover!!!LOL! Gotta love when that happens. I jokingly said to my daughter those magazines are copying me again!! To tell the truth, I have been copying them all this past year and quite a few wonderful bloggers! It was just fun to see all the ideas I loved from different people all rolled up into 1 photo shoot. I'll post some photos next week when I'm done decorating, well truth be told I'm never done decorating so I'll post as I add things!;-)

This is what my 2 sofas in my great room look like. I love them but it is a very summery look.

I also have a chair and 1/2 in red.

This past weekend we took a trip to the airport in Detroit to pick up our son, that means I get to go to Ikea :-)! I picked up some pillows to get ready for winter. I put away all the bright pillows...........

Although I have been reading blogs for quite awhile now I have never been brave enough to start a blog of my own.
