Bathroom~before and after....

Hello and welcome to the post
that is linked to Donna at Funky Junk.
She is hosting a Saturday Nite Special
where anything goes so I'm
adding my bathroom redo.

Bathroom before...

after....
We used bead board wallpaper on the
front of the cabinets, trimmed
them out and painted them.
I'm very happy with the cottage
feel it gives them.

I spray painted some pulls,
the light covers, a shelf and the TP holder
with a hammered bronze spray paint
to match the new faucet.
Faucet before...

after...
Linen closet before...

after...

New window treatment made
from painter's drop cloth.

I love my new room.

Dishes I found to compliment
the shower curtain.
Painted the floor with
a "Hint of Cream" and
then sprayed it with
Spray Stone.
I love it!
We still have crown molding
and new hanging light fixtures to put up.
I already started putting up
some Christmas things in here.
It is always fun to have a
new space to decorate!
Thanks for stopping by!

Yes, you can paint a vinyl floor!

Before~ coat of primer...
2 coats of paint...

American Accents
Stone spray paint,
color ~ Bleached Stone
2 coats

2 coats of varnish....

After~
I love it!
It really looks like a stone tile!
I want to put on 2-3 more coats
of varnish. After that, I'm making curtains
out of painter's drop cloth and I'll be finished.
I am happy girl!

All work and a little play...

I've been working on the
bathroom floor today,
S L O W L Y !
Trying to give the coats of paint
plenty of time to dry in between.
That really tests my patience.
I just finished the last coat of
spray stone! I think it looks good.
I am going to let it dry really
well for a couple
of days before I varnish it.
This is a picture of the floor with just
a coat of primer. Check back later for
the final results in a couple of days. :)

I bought the bird toile shower curtain
from Target that so many in blogland
have loved in the past
quite some time ago.
Finally getting around to
getting this bathroom done!

I stopped in to a favorite store of mine
where I had purchased some small
pictures, wanting to get a 3rd one
to hang as a group in the new bath.
Well....Look what I found
and fell in love with!!
Bird toile dishes!
Well, I was in love at
first sight.
The plate will go above a shelf
and the bowl is wanting to be filled
with small blue egg shaped soaps.
I'm on the look out for soaps
so if anyone knows where I can
get some please let me know. :)

Perfect shade of brown toile!
While I was busy in the bathroom....

there was a whole lot of fun
going on in the other room!

Mini Chicken Pot Pies...

Today has been a busy day...
windows have been washed,
screens put away,
gutters cleanded out,
I gave Bryson and Tom haircuts.
Now we are ready for lunch.
Mini Chicken Pot Pies!
This recipe looked simple and yummy!

It was both!

Try it yourself! Emma says it's a keeper!

Ugly bathroom redo begins today....

Yep...seriously one ugly bathroom...
80's ugly cabinets.
I've already started adding
the beadboard wall paper...

The doors broke the doors off years ago..
We built this home 27 years ago
and the wear and tear
of raising 4 kids will do that sometimes. :)

I am going to attempt a nice cottage style redo.
A lot of the hardware is going to get
a nice touch up with this....

I'm liking the hammered bronze all ready!

We had sulfur water for years and it really
damaged our faucets.
We now have great water
and I need to replace some fixtures.
I am trying to get brave and spray paint them
to see how they hold up.
The fixtures I picked since having good water
are outdated and need replacing anyway
soooo.....I'm thinking why not try out the faucet and
over flow and see how they hold up before tackling the
sink faucet and shower head.

Here are the drawer fronts with paper...

First off I glued the trim with gorilla glue
Tom is going to tack them also,
then I'll finish up with some putty
before painting them.

Don't know when I'll be all done,
Busy week already with school and clients
so we will be working an hour or two at a time.
I'll post updates along the way!
Blessings~
