It's been a long week........

What started as a toothache that needed attention turned in to a root canal and a future crown. I was put on an antibiotic and pain meds for the infection, well those caused me some serious problems. Thursday evening after the root canal I was still having pain so I took more pain meds with the second round of antibiotics, that is when all the fun began. I could not sleep at all! I was dizzy.....I mean EXTREMELY dizzy and nauseated. My bed was spinning, if I sat, stood or layed down I could get no relief! Tom managed to get me to the Dr. late Friday afternoon and he gave me 2 shots of phenergan which helped with the nausea and pretty much let me sleep. He also started me on something (I forget the name of drug) for dizziness that people use for sea sickness. At the moment, 24 hrs later I am sitting on the couch with Bekah's lap top. As long as I move VERY S L O W L Y I am handling things OK. I pray I never experience symptoms like that again! Has anyone else ever have dizziness like that?

Tomorrow is my hubby's Birthday. He is a HUGE Steelers fan so we are praying for a big win!

Blessings,

Leigh Ann

Can you help with some Graduation Inspiration?.....

For starters from Target...........

.....party planning can be fun!

Article from MaryEngelbriet:

Various Candy buffet ideas: I like all the colors! Found these on a google search.

Target: Home Garden Line

My 3rd born child and oldest daughter Graduates in May. While everyone else is thinking about Valentine's Day I am planning and looking ahead to Graduation.
The boys always wanted school colors which were orange and black. Yea for Rebekah, she is willing to step outside the box and go for some color.
Last year while planning the Pink and Green wedding, I kept telling her that we could use alot of the decor from the wedding for her graduation. I think I was in project overload from all the pink and green crafting that was going on and couldn't see my self making a ton of stuff for Graduation. Praise the Lord I am over that and am ready to craft again!Lately she has told me she is not a pink and green kinda girl! LOL! I agree but she is a Pink, Green, Red and Aqua kinda girl! I hope!(I'll let you know after she reads this post!) Anyway, I want to make this party her own and have some fun and whimsy with it! I will be able to use some lights, metal beverage tubs, and a couple of other things from the wedding but should make it look quite different.
I came across this Mary E.'s Home Companion article when I was planning Bret's orange and black Graduation and saved it to use for some idea's for when Bekah was having hers. I still love it, although our color scheme will be different. I love the streamers and pennants. I will also be making some banners to hang. I would love to use the graduation year pin on her invites.
The last picture are some vases I have found at Target for her Graduation from the spring line called Home Garden. Be sure to click that link for Target to see place mats and napkins I will use for some projects for the porch and tables. I will be making pillows from the napkins and placements for the front porch wicker, I also found matching chair pads. They have tablecloths and shower curtains in polka dot and damask patterns all so fresh and fun. I couldn't make up my mind but I think I will be going back for the turquoise polka dot shower curtain for sure and use it as a background for her display table. I would love to hear from others about their Party ideas for Graduation? In the past we have done full size cut out pictures of Bret, those were fun! I used Photofetti http://www.photofetti.com/ on Seth's tables and loved that!
I always have a video from birth to Senior year.
Bekah has done it for her brothers, she says she will help me do hers too!;)
We have had the same meal for both the boys, turkey wraps, BBQ pork, potato salad, fresh fruit, fresh veggies, baked beans, oreo dessert, pretzel dessert, cake, cookies and chocolate fountain. Bekah hasn't decided on her menu but she doesn't want the same as her big bro's. Any ideas and suggestions would be great! We have considered a mexican dinner, baked potato bar, or BBQ chicken breasts. We are going to have a candy buffet along with the cake for sure. It was a hit at the wedding, none of Bekah's friends were at that so it will be new to them. I would love input from everyone, I know you are all so creative. If anyone wants to post a shout out for help that would be fabulous! Send them over to my post @ http://labbabslife.blogspot.com/
Thanks in advance for your help!

More projects........

I just ordered this Shower curtain for my downstairs bathroom. I love the toile bird print. The problem is I have never ever liked what I have done in this bathroom. Believe me I think I have redone this room at least 10 times. Alot has to do with the linoleum, yuck, yes, I picked it out! Alot more has to do with the laminate ivory cabinets with oak trim! Double yuck and yes I picked those out too! In my defense, I was a young married 20 year old who was building her house, who didn't even know what her style was yet. Let me just say now 26 years later neither the flooring or the cabinets are my style........then or now!!LOL! So in addition to the new curtain I may have to be brave and attempt to paint the flooring and the cabinets, until I can afford what I want, which means demolish the whole bath, knock out a wall and start from scratch. Anyway, I think this may be affordable in the mean time, and I like it, it is definately my style!
I also ordered this for the guest room downstairs. Love the aqua!
Love toile, but want to do something different than
the traditional red or black.
So what do you think of this?
Not sure if it is brown or black with the aqua, but I would like either one. Seth and Melanie or my parents stay in this room when they come and it is still stuck
in it's former Liberty Center Tigers glory (black and ivory), minus all the orange accents from trophies, awards and posters. Time for a change. Now that Seth is married I feel it is okay to change it. My goal is to have these rooms both complete before Bekah's Graduation in May. Now speaking of projects...her Graduation is a biggie, another post for another day.

My next project....

Okay, I'm painting a piece of furniture red. Anyone care to guess which piece? I decided not to spray paint it because it is rather large, now I'm not sure. I am going to have to put on a 3rd coat tomorrow and see what I think. I'll update the progress soon. :)

Cute NC cottage...

I had a request to see the inside of the Newlyweds little cottage in NC, these pictures are from before the wedding when Seth was there by himself. Just imagine their home with all the little touches Melanie has made now to make it even more cozy, like pictures on the walls, pretty pillows and bedding, candles and etc.

Through the front door are these awesome built-ins...

This is the living room.

This fireplace is to the left of the built-ins,

looking from the living room into the Kitchen.

It also has a gas log on the oppisite side.

Nice efficient kitchen with great appliances,

they have a great table by the fireplace in here now . In the hall off of the kitchen is this bath with tiles.Shower...

The hallway to the bedroom, awesome washer/dryer and closet space.

Master Bedroom. They now have a really pretty pumpkin colored
bedding ensemble. They are not allowed to paint since they are renting. The new bedding added a great punch of color. She also painted a large mirror the same color and it looks fabulous.

Nice closets with great storage.

The door leads to wonderful wooden deck

overlooking their back yard and small garden.

This is the master bath. I love how the owners kept alot of cottage charm

and mixed it up with contemporary pieces.

Great shower.

Another view of the cozy cottage.

Hope you enjoyed the tour as much as we love visiting it.

The kids have made it in to a cozy first home.

There is one more bedroom that they use as an office.

They are in the market to buy a home in the area

but if they end up renting 1 more year that will be fine also.

Afterall, it is all in God's timing. ;)

Blessings~
