7 more days......

.....till my summer break!

I am dreaming of relaxing by my pool, on my porch, at my parents on Lake Michigan

and at my son's new home in North Caorlina.

I am a total beach bum. I love being at my parents in Michigan.
Nothing better than the sound of the waves and the sand between my toes.
I won't be going until July, unless Emma and I sneak up for a short

visit before our family vacation. :)

Love this porch, I have morning glories and a gingerbread screen door on my own!
Dinner by candlelight is the best after a long summer day.

Last but not least an above ground pool.

We have so much fun in ours. When you live in the country

in hot and humid Ohio and are raising 4 kids it is a must have!

Although in our neck of the woods ponds are great too. Before we

had a pool we went to Grandma and Grandpa B's

with all the cousins almost everyday to swim and fish in their pond. My wonderful SILs and I

and up to 15 kids, what memories!

Emma and Bekah are out on summer break from school

so our summer has officially started!

Graduation goodness...

...just some good ol' flag waving celebratin' graduation decor! :)

These little pennants and flags will be in vases with fresh flowers on each table. So much fun!

slipcover lover.....

I have always wanted slipcovered furniture and now I have 2 slipcovered wing backs that

I adore. My niece Jenna helped me and did the sewing!

2 wing backs $80 from Goodwill, 2 painter's dropcloths from Lowes $24 each.

I am definately.....

my weekend...

Today I worked on filling the candy jars for Bekah's Graduation Party.

My niece came over to help me slipcover the 2 wingback chairs

I bought over a year ago at Goodwill.

I spray painted the little white end table black.

I loved the shape of the wingbacks but was not wild about the fabric.

We are using a painter's dropcloth for the fitted slipcovers.

We're not quite finished. But I'm loving the new look.

Saturday, Seth my oldest, was in from NC with his Wife. He was in one of his college friend's wedding. They flew out early this am for home. It was a short but sweet visit. Bret left for Indy on Sat. am for a summer internship. Emma had a soccer tournament that day also. Her team was undefeated during the season and came away with 3rd place on the tourney.

Insurance called and said it was totaled.

YEP, another accident!

A young girl pulled out in front of me and I hit her broadside. I was so worried that I had hurt her but she was fine. Her car, I'm afraid was not. Bekah's Tracker just had slight damage to the front bumper. I am so thankful for God's protection both days. Cars can be replaced.

This is going to be a crazy busy week getting ready for Graduation. Some of Bekah's girlfriends had their parties Sat. evening. 2 down and a ton more to attend.
It is always alot of fun though.

Car Accident.....

It was dark and rainy and I slowed for an oncoming firetruck. The firetruck turned on a side road and traffic accelerated and so did I. I looked to the left as the fire truck turned, when I looked back ahead the car in front of me had stopped for another passing firetruck! Uh OH!! I was completely at fault and could not stop! I did try to maneuver around but caught the corner of her SUV. Thankfully no one was injured. Minor damage to the SUV bumper.... not so minor damage to my little Nissan! :( They towed my little car to be fixed! Praise the Lord that it was just damage to the vehicles and no one was injured. I will have to say I am very ready for summer break....15 school days left....who's counting!?

Anticipation and answered prayers.....

Our prayers have been answered and Rebekah has been accepted to Grand Valley State University in Michigan. It was a tense few weeks after the University of Toledo cancelled her Major and we needed to find a new school. God is good and we can now see that GVSU is a much better program and fit for her. We were able to visit the campus this last week and it is beautiful!

She came home the other day with her cap and gown so of course we had to take a few shots for fun! She is excited to graduate but at the same time a little nervous. :/

Class of 2009!

Everything is falling in to place. I am so proud of the young woman Rebekah has become. She is full of grace and love and she has a heart for the Lord. Such a different young women of 19 than I was at her age. I was just beginning my walk with the Lord at this age. I will miss her greatly this next year but I am also ready to let her spread her wings.....

My Mother's Day.....

It started with a scavenger hunt planned by Emma :)!

Breakfast before church! So fun!

After church we went out to eat, mainly to feed those 2 older kids who slept through the scavenger hunt and the first meal! ;) We had a nice meal and a lot of laughs!

On the way home I had a wonderful call from Seth and his wife Melanie. We miss them, but they will be home 2 out of the next 3 weekends for a wedding and Bekah's graduation.

When we got home we took pictures. Then headed off to Emma's soccer game. I had a nap after the game. Now Bekah is making diner with help from Bret. Chicken on the grill, veggies and mashed potatoes. Yummy.

I'm going out to spray paint some projects now and then get a start on re-doing my living room. It may involve painting the piano....I'll let you know!

All in all it has been a wonderful day....I am blessed!
