Blogging + Meeting = Friends...

Today I had the pleasure of meeting a fellow blogger and her name is LeAnn also! How fun is that!? Other than our names, we have quite a lot in common and our meeting today felt like catching up with a long lost friend.

We met in a little town along the river between both

our hometowns and had a great time going

in all the shops and enjoying our lunch outside

overlooking the canal and river.

While we were shopping she found

a wonderful picnic basket

that was so adorable. At the end of our

day she did the most wonderful thing

and gave it to me ~how sweet.

my breezeway porch and put

one of my geraniums in it!

I love it!

Sunday.....

Our day started with Baptism of our newest great niece~ Aleigh Justine. It was a wonderful church service and then her Mom and Dad served us all a delicious brunch afterwards.

Later that afternoon Jenna came over with all the kiddos while Chad went fishing. We had fun with the kids! Poor Jenna was so tired, she does have her hands full. Uncle Tom grilled pork chops for us and hot dogs for the kiddos. Supper was really good and afterwards we all had fun playing on the porch. Mary Katelyn just started walking and she is so excited! She never crawled but would just scoot on her bottom. Bryson had fun going for a ride in the pickup with Uncle Tom, Emma and our dog, Sarge. He also enjoyed his cake on the porch, he thought it was yummy. After they all went home, which is around the corner about 1/8 of a mile, I washed down the porch floor and lite the candles on my porch. It is so peaceful out there in the evenings. I took a few pictures to share and now I'm headed back out for a final quiet time before bed. Hope your day was as joyful and then peaceful as mine!

Sat. nite @ Fallen Timbers....

At 3:35 today Tom said "Let's go the movies!" We don't do it very often 'cause it cost an arm and a leg. We quick surfed the net to see if we could catch a matinee, yep, the movie "Up" started at 4:20. Boy did we hustle and we were out the door in less than 15 minutes. We even threw 2 bags of our own popcorn in the microwave, packed some pop, thank goodness we all have big purses, and off we went. We would have had plenty of time but I needed to make a quick stop at Carruth studios in Waterville for 2 gifts. I was quick as lightening and we pulled into the cinema at 4:30. We even made it for 2 previews!

After the movie we had time for a photo op!

and we went over to watch an 80's band. :)

The girls were having a good time...

...and were being silly!

I, of course, am always drawn to the babies!

While we were enjoying the music, one of the funniest

things we have ever witnessed happened.

A worker from the ice cream snack bar was offering

a tiny spoonful sample of ice cream to the

crowd. The ice cream girl was politely making her

rounds with 4 different cups of ice cream

with the tiny sampling spoons.

She went down to the row in front of us and offered her samples,

then one lady said

" thank you " and grabbed a whole cup!

Talk about ROTFL!! My girls couldn't stop laughing.

The poor ice cream sample girl had such a funny look her face.

of ice cream and she never missed a beat! LOL!

We had a fabulous time and yes,we did buy

our own ice cream on the way to the car!

Out with the old....

This is my shop.... these chairs are old.....

really old...



and worn....




....this one is 1970's ancient!

(I never got around to getting it covered to match the other 2)

Soooo......

Out with the old and in with the new!!!

At least they are new to me! All 3 of them match! LOL!

They also look ok with the current wallpaper.

We built the shop 12 years ago.

I love it but it does need to be brought up to date.

I just don't want to strip the 50 rolls of wallpaper off the walls!

I may get around to it this summer

but then again, I may wait until next summer.

The local Career Center had an auction yesterday

so I was able to purchase some updated items

at bargain prices, I mean bargain prices!

These bowls are top of the line and only 5 years old!

Solid cast iron. Seriously. Heavy.

Not my color of choice. I basically bought them for the plumbing, these special sprayers

run around $160 each alone. The bowl runs around $500.

I paid $20 for each one!

Happy dance!

I'm going to call the guy who has done body work on my cars

and get his advice on painting them. If I can, I will be replacing my exsisting sinks also.

I also bought 3 manicure tables to donate to my school.

We could use a few more for my students.

I bought some things for my home also!

These stools are great.

I'm going to work my spray paint magic on them and

use them in the house somewhere!

This chalk board was so exciting to get!!

Emma and I are fighting over who gets it. ;)

We just went outside and measured it! I will only need 2/3

of it so the rest is hers. She wants it for down in our game room

where she has a play school set up.

We are both happy.

I am going to spray paint mine with

black chalk board paint, and add some molding around it.

It will be going in my breezeway

above my bench!

Tom had to get our old farm trailer out and go pick up the first load today.

Someone at work snuck out and without Him knowing stuck this sign on the back.

He didn't know it until the police pulled him over
for obstructing the slow moving vehicle sign !!!
Good thing I got such a bargain yesterday
cause his ticket was $160.00!

Just kidding girls!
But he did get a good laugh out of it at

the school when he backed in!

My room.....

... I have always wanted a room with, transferware, toile and slipcovers and now I have one! :)

My parents gave me this library table a few years ago when they downsized and sold their house and condo here in Ohio and made the final move to Lake Michigan, after my Dad Retired.

My aunt needed a computer table, so it was at her house until recently when she moved, now it is at my house and I love it.

I bought the wall saying at Hobby Lobby when it was 1/2 off, it represents the 3 most important things in my life....faith~family~friends!

The little black table was my Grandma's. It used to be white and I just painted it black.
This little black stool was a favorite find at a neighbor's garage sale last summer, it was a steal and after a little TLC, I love it!

The morning sun is glorious in this room with it's butter golden walls.

All of the furniture in this room came from thrift stores

or was hand me downs from family.

(Except for the piano, I bought that from a friend of my SIL)

The white table was on my Aunt's Grandma's porch,

she thinks it is a least 100 years old. I love it!

I found the toile chair in a little artist studio in Swanton for a steal,

it is truly a favorite of mine.

Of course my wonderful niece helped me slipcover the chairs

I found last year at Goodwill.

I mistreated the window for a whopping $3.69

with black and white gingham and thumb tacks from Wal-mart!

I found the black and white toile slipcovers

at a second hand store in Grand Rapids,Ohio

just a hop skip and jump down the river from me.

For get this.....

$5 a piece!

They washed up great and I threw them over my kitchen chairs!

The little wicker chair is from a dear friend of my parents in Michigan

who owns a little General store. It was hers when she was a little girl! :)

In this room I plan to do the following....

...spending time doing my devotions,

enjoying the quiet.

I can sit by a sunny window and

enjoy a cup of coffee

and my mini wheats

with some favorite magazines.

That is what I was planning on doing

this very morning....

and then.....

these 2 showed up. ;)

Bryson and MK (Mary Katelyn),

My great niece and nephew, they have a new baby sister!

Grandma (my Sis) brought them over on a walk this am to give Mom and Daddy

a little peace and quiet with the new baby.

They love my piano!!!

I love them!

I love my new room

and am sure we will use it often!
