Locks of Love....

Please keep our friend Lizzy in your prayers as she battles Luekemia. Her Mom's family are childhood friends of my Hubby's family. Her Aunt Teresa is a stylist in my salon. You can read Liz's story here, she is an amazing young lady.

Hair today gone tomorrow....

This my daughter(right) and her BFF. They have been growing their hair out for a long time so they could donate it to Locks of Love. Well, tonight was the night! I cut off a total of 20 inches between the 2 of them. Check back soon for the photos from our fun evening.

Help......cottage kitchen redo on a slim budget.......

ideas.....

-paint oak cabinets, green on lower cabinets, off white on upper

-add molding to tops and and bottoms of cabinets to add character
-new counters, laminate off white, or butcherblock

-replace old broken desk with 36" base drawer cabinet for pots and pans (which will provide 36" more counter space!)

-backsplash, tin or beadboard

-beadboard walls 2/3 high

-have dishwasher painted off white
I would love to have a farm house sink, but it is not a need so I won't be splurging on that. Instead I will add molding on drawer fronts for added cottage interest.

My cabinets have been here for 26 years and have withstood 4 children. They have been very worn looking the past few years. Hubby and I have been talking about painting them for at least that long. We decided today that we would like to do this before Bekah's graduation in May. He-he! Why do we do this to ourselves! I think we work better under pressure!

Anyway what do you think about my inspration photos for a start?.........I'm sure I'll add more as we keep gathering our ideas and making the decsions on the backsplash and counters. (I'm not a granite girl, I would love marble but it is not in my budget.) I have had off white laminate for years and have loved it. I want to stay neutral on things like counters and appliances.)

So, ladies bring on your thoughts ideas and inspiration...I welcome all the help I can get. Anyone see the faux tin backsplash at Lowes? I would either leave it shiny tin or am leaning towards off white paint.

SeNIoRs!

These beautiful girls have been together since kindergarten,

this shot is only 10 of them. They were at a cheerleading competetion to cheer on a few more of their good friends. They know each other so well, they share so much, friends, faith, homework, laughter, sports, dances, happiness, sadness and sometimes drama.

What will their futures hold.........some will stay in our small town, some will leave, college for some, work for others. They have so much to look forward too. One thing is for sure they will always have a strong bound to come home to. Enjoy these last few months of your senior year
